I had the pleasure of working with Colton for close to a year. Being under his care I was met with attentiveness & genuine care from another human while at the same time being persistent on having me become more vulnerable.
Since moving on, I can say without doubt due to his help my relationships with people & myself are much healthier. I can set boundaries and stick to them. I am able to properly convey my feelings without second-guessing myself. Working with Colton is like working with a best friend who just happens to be a therapist.

Colton is very intelligent, sympathetic, and understanding. My therapy sessions with Colton have been successful in helping me work through my anxiety and get back to being my old self.
His techniques and strategies he taught me have been instrumental in understanding and overcoming my anxiety.
As a man who used to be skeptical of therapy, I cannot say enough good things about Colton and our therapy sessions. He has improved my life and been a true blessing to me and my family.

Colton has been very kind, helping me overcome self-confidence issues and ruminations over my past. He has been a consistent, positive presence over the past two months, supporting me through reality checks and isolating root causes for my anxiety. He illuminates my accomplishments objectively, training me to realize my insecurities and control them. I would recommend Colton to anyone suffering from depression or anxiety, for his kind and calming demeanor, and for his tactile and effective approach to treating mental health issues.

My experience with Mr. Colton Rouse was my intro to the Counseling world. To be fully honest; before that, I was fully against the idea of sharing my personal matters and problems with a total stranger; my attitude was like “I know myself… I can fix my own problems… I don’t want to be told what to do nor how to do it…etc.”; so, my start with Colton was skeptical, unconfident and hesitant towards the entire counseling idea; but right during the first session, all those feelings started to wash away, thanks to his openness, professionalism and smooth approach. He never judged me; In fact, he made me feel like if I were talking to my best friend, a best friend who cared and knew what he was doing and saying, a person that I could freely share everything in mind with, knowing that he would listen and help.
His advice was always on the point, and the tools he provided were key to rediscover myself and fight and overcome my issues. In few words, he helped me reshape myself into a better person, a better husband, father, brother and friend; even into a better manager and supervisor at work.
Without exaggeration, I owe him my life!
I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone who needs counseling.

I’ve been working with Colton for I think around 6 months now, and I will probably struggle to put his impact into words! I reached out to Colton for some help working through grief, however what we’ve actually achieved is something I genuinely never assumed possible.
Colton has helped me heal 20+ year family riffs, helped me handle levels of grief that I didn’t know I could handle, but most importantly we have worked through traumatic events I didn’t even think I could touch and healed my relationship with myself.
I’ve learned more about myself, the world, family, and past situations than I could ever detail. The result so far is indescribable, it’s a continuing journey but for the first time ever I love who I am, I feel free from the past, and I feel excited for the future.
Healing and therapy is a hard road and it can be very scary and painful, but Colton handles every conversation with such expertise and care that you feel empowered and safe to engage with those emotions and feelings. In just 6 months the door has been opened to a real future and it looks bright, those reading this review won’t have met me but I promise that’s a million miles away from something Old-Me would have said.
I couldn’t recommend Colton more, and to anyone that is struggling I would say that even if you’re curious as to what therapy can do for you, don’t hesitate to reach out to him, he’s the best!

I must say I was very skeptical of counseling at first, until after my first session with Colton. He’s patient and he understands very well when it comes to emotional situations. Never have I ever been so comfortable to tell a person that was once a total stranger all the things I feared mentally, when it came to my life and very personal situations. Mr. Rouse helped me open my mind and heart, not just to himself one-on-one, but he somehow made our group sessions feel like family meetings! He helped me learn about my emotions and find solutions to my anger and bad habits that I never knew existed. If you or someone you know is seeking counseling, I highly recommend Mr. Rouse! If you really want it, he’ll help change your life for the better! 💙

Before beginning counseling, I had always viewed it with an open mind, never doubting that it would be an effective way to address some aspects of my life that I was seeking to change or improve, but after working with Colton Rouse for about 10 months, the results and positive changes we were able to reach had well surpassed my initial expectations.
Colton’s knowledge and skill sets, his high level of comprehension of them, and his very high level of competence in his field helped me clearly identify and understand the aspects of my interpersonal relationships which were causing issues for me. He brought a thoughtful, inquisitive mindset to our sessions, with which to tackle the various challenges in front of us. This along with his patience, kindness, compassion, as well as his gentle but unwavering commitment to ask that I always hold myself accountable for my own actions and behaviors allowed me to see that it wasn’t just parts of my relationships with others that needed to be changed or improved, but that there were things about myself, my behavior, and who I was that needed improvement and changing for the better.
Working together, we even identified a number of personal behavioral issues that were affecting my life that I had not been aware of. I was astounded at the amount of real progress, positive personal growth and obvious improvement in my life and relationships over the course of our sessions together, much more than I would have expected or believed possible before we started.
I put a lot of energy into our time together, always trying to be as open and honest with him as possible, but I don’t know that I could have done that so readily, or been as comfortable in opening up, without the sense of trust, empathy and understanding that he always brought to our sessions. Colton really helped me to grow and better myself as a person, moving in the direction I had wanted, but with a degree of success and achievement that I hadn’t thought was possible. It has been intensely satisfying to see the amount of positive change in my life and relationships that I was able to achieve with Colton’s help. I would encourage anyone looking to improve their life through counseling to seek his services. I have every confidence in his knowledge, talents, abilities and his personal approach to helping people effect positive changes in their lives.

For about two years now, Colton’s guidance has helped my family through the loss of a loved one, managing the changes of a split home, and other multiple stresses. His insight carefully mapped our way in to a gentler approach. In doing so, my children have the ability and comfort to come to me about anything. His continued advice and support help maintain this stability. He has truly been a light in our family’s path through healthier mental health and patterns. I highly recommend him to all my friends, loved ones, and anyone looking for true understanding even through the hardest of times.

I’ve worked with Colton for about 6 months and he is amazing.. At first, I didn’t know what to think and how he could help me with my personal life being we come from different backgrounds and cultures. And I kid you not, after the first session I knew from there I would be seeing him for as long as I can. He’s very understanding and patient with me. Not to mention his empathy coming from another background. I’ve learned a lot from Colton especially with having control of oneself and being able to control emotions! Highly recommended 20 out of 10 counselor who I go back to just for follow ups!

Colton is someone who really cares about your personal growth. If you are looking for someone who will truly hear and feel what you are going through, you are going to have a hard time looking for someone better. One of the most genuine people I have met, a great counselor, and an even better friend.

After working with Colton for the better portion of this year, I can say without a doubt I have gained a new perspective on what healthy boundaries look and sound like. Not once was I made to feel like my feelings were invalidated. I was listened to, validated, and I had the help from Colton to work on things I had no idea I needed help with. I have learned how to take ownership of my feelings and have learned to become more vocal about them. I have no doubt that if I find myself in the need for further help in any aspect of my life, Colton will be more than enough in order to gain an effective result. I am extremely appreciative of the work that was accomplished during my time with Colton.

Colton is a great counselor! I really grew in the 36 weeks that I spent with him. He helped me see things from a different perspective and taught me a lot of different tools to help with my anger.

My eldest son & I had been estranged from one another for almost 2 years when we sought out Colton’s help to try and find a path forward. Colton really helped me identify some behaviors I’d exhibited keeping me apart from my son. Our relationship was extremely complicated and Colton was able to help me better understand what I needed to change in order to rekindle our father-son relationship. This was a big “ask” for him, but he’s extremely organized in his approach and was able to help us to begin new, with hope for a better relationship and future.
I’d recommend Colton to anyone needing help regardless of what areas you wish to improve. He’s very direct, which I really appreciate, and very thoughtful in his comments and strategy for reconciliation. He’s an extraordinary listener, which was very important to us as we didn’t want to lose track of our goals. Thanks, Colton, for changing my stubborn perceptions. I wasted 2 long years trying to solve this on my own. Best of luck!

I had always been averse to going to therapy but after some prodding I found Colton. He has given me much guidance and clarity as well as helping me understand how to be the best version of myself. I’m incredibly thankful for the work he has done with me.

I recently had the privilege of working with Colton Rouse, a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Austin, TX, for 36 weeks. During our sessions I was able to work through issues such as anxiety and depression as well as my relationships. Colton’s approach is tailored to each individual’s needs and he incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy and other tools. He was always patient, understanding and supportive during our sessions, giving me helpful advice that I still use today when facing difficult situations.
Overall, Colton provided me with a safe space to talk about my struggles and learn how to better manage them. I’m very grateful for his guidance during this time in my life and would highly recommend him if you’re looking for an experienced mental health professional in Austin or the surrounding area.

I have attended sessions facilitated by Colton for more than 24 weeks. During this journey, Colton has really helped me realize areas of my life that needed focus and improvement. He has and is helping me “peel the onion back” to discover what and how occurrences in my life have affected me. At the end of every session I feel like I have taken a breath of fresh air. I look forward to our sessions and improving my quality of life. Colton listens, is genuine and is really a great resource. I wholeheartedly recommend him.

Colton is not only relatable but a counselor that has helped me be a better and more confident version of myself. Our sessions have been less like visiting a counselor and more like talking to a friend who actually gives good advice. I am very thankful for the work he has done to help me help myself become as good as I am able.
Jon
For someone who had never sought out help through therapy, I am so glad I was able to be guided through such a hard time with someone like Colton. I initially chose Colton as my therapist due to him having a focus in couple’s therapy. While I didn’t bring my partner to therapy and ultimately decided it was best to exit the relationship, Colton was able to help me through an incredibly hard time through education and help setting weekly boundaries/goals. He was able to help me identify how I was being treated and how I can prevent myself from being in the same difficult situation. If you are looking for someone who is goal-oriented, patient, and understanding, I would definitely reach out to him. You will be in good hands, and I can’t thank Colton enough for the help of setting my life back on track.
Claudia
I worked with Colton for 18 weeks and during that time he was able to provide me with new emotional and communication tools that not only helped with my self expression, but also allowed me to grow individually. This was done through Colton’s accountability during the sessions and him pushing me each time in a safe and comfortable environment. I have seen the results greatly benefit my personal and professional arenas. I’m incredibly grateful for the experience.
Danny
Colton Rouse worked with my great-grandson for over two years (5-7 years old). Colton did a great job with Daniel. Colton was always professional and helped Daniel with his own needs and issues. We highly recommend him.
